WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE KAURNA PEOPLE
We acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of this land. We pay our respects to Kaurna elders, past, present, and emerging. The Kaurna people have lived and cared for this land for thousands of years. We acknowledge their deep cultural connection to Tjilbruke and the sacred places along the coast, including Warriparinga, Patpangga, Tainbarang, Potartang, Witawali, and Kongaratinga. Tjilbruke and Warriparinga hold great spiritual significance, and we honor their teachings.
Through our birding workshops, we witness the beauty of the land, the sea, and the sky. We learn about the wisdom of the birds, their behaviors, and their role in maintaining the delicate balance of nature. We recognize the importance of birds in Tjilbruke's journey and their significance to the Kaurna people's cultural heritage. We take inspiration from Tjilbruke's transformation and the birds' guidance to protect and preserve the precious habitats of these winged beings.
We commit to caring for this land and the birds that call it home. We acknowledge the traditional knowledge of the Kaurna people in understanding the land, the sky, and the environment. We walk together, learning from the past, and working towards a sustainable and harmonious future for all beings – human, bird, and nature."
